View and grade scheduled exams

A specific, guiding role, such as an examiner, can see for participants which practical exams are visible to that participant. It is also possible to check whether each exam has been scheduled or closed. This can be done via the module 'Exam Dashboard'. All exams of linked participants will be shown here. At 'Active assessments' (or otherwise called, for example 'Open actions') all results to be checked are listed. Click on the pencil symbol to start grading. Another possibility is to use the three selection menus to show specific participants. If an exam can be graded on a participant, a symbol with three dashes will be displayed on that exam. Clicking on it opens the assessment screen.

Grading an Exam

The grading form screen may have several, drop-down bars. These may include, for example, the assignment description or content. Use the plus symbol on the right side to expand the bar. This can be used by examiners to read back this information during grading. This information is set up in advance when creating an exam.

To grade an assignment, an assessment must be entered for each required section. If required by the settings, an explanation is required in the text box. This is indicated by a small * (asterisk) that appears to the right of the text block. In addition, each section may have criteria that must be met by the participant.

There are several options for completing an assessment, these depend on the assessment option used. These can be entering points, selecting unsatisfactory/satisfactory/good or open fields. A slider can also be used to indicate the number of points. This looks like the following: Rating slider

It can be set to divide the exam assignments across multiple pages. To close an assessment, the mandatory parts of all pages must be completed. A notification will be shown in red if this is not the case. When all assessments have been completed, click "Save and Finalize Assignment" at the bottom of the screen.

Next, a summary of the completed assessments of each appointed examiner will be displayed. An example is shown in the image to the right. The first examiner has completed the assessment for all three criteria. There is no assessment from a second examiner in this case. Whether this is necessary depends on the settings when creating. The final assessment can still be adjusted manually, if desired.

Manually entering an assessment

An assessment can be entered manually via the exam dashboard, without using an assessment form. Select the desired participant in the overview and click on the block next to that participant. In the next screen the option '+ Enter result manually' is shown at the top right. Then you can choose to assign a mark (per part). It should be indicated whether this result is a pass or fail grade (or another option, if possible). Finally click on 'Add result'.
