2022-11-20 Remindo Release 22.6
Version: 22.6.00
General
An option has been added to the settings of the API calls to simplify authentication. Where previously each message had to be given a signature, it is now also sufficient to add an X-API-Key HTTP header. Our API documentation provides simple examples of how to use it. This method is also natively supported by API testing tools, such as Postman.
This new authentication method is selected by default for new API links, but the old method can also be selected if desired. Existing API links will continue to work with the old signature calculation for backwards compatibility. You can, however, choose in the API settings to also use this new method for existing links.
Remindo Manager
1. Questions
- In the item bank there are a number of icons on the right-hand side of each test question. There was always an icon when comments were made on this question.
When the icon was clicked, the comments could be viewed or a new comment could be posted.
For questions that did not yet contain comments, this icon was not present. A new addition is that it is now also possible to place a comment directly in the item bank, even if there are no existing comments yet, via the new icon in the overview.
This also applies when the overview is opened via 'Show all', from there it is now also easy to add comments about a question. - When a property was added to the question, in some cases the pop-up was just too small to properly display the information. We've made this a bit bigger.
- If questions contain emoticons/emojis in the texts, these will now also be displayed correctly in the PDF download of the questions.
2. Keys
- In the settings of a test matrix, a rounding method can be selected in the test settings. We have removed one of the possible options here, namely 'Round the score down if the score is lower than the cut-off point'. This method caused quite a bit of confusion about its exact application. In addition, after checking, we saw that this method is actually never used. The best replacement for this option is the "Normal rounding rules, round down to the cutoff point" option.
- When creating a test matrix variant, it is now possible to choose the option 'Make a complete copy of all settings and rules without selections'. A test variant is then created in which all settings and created rules are copied, but the selection of questions is not included. This is useful when the structure of an existing test matrix can be copied, but the content cannot. After creating the variant, the right questions can be added immediately.
- The 'History' tab of the test matrix now also shows when and by whom a test matrix was archived.
3. Management
- When making an export of all results of a question bank (at "Settings > Manage question banks > 'Download results of the question bank'"), the UserID column is no longer displayed. This is not relevant for this export.
Remindo Administration
1. Decrease
- The candidate's dashboard only showed the time of an assessment moment on the day itself. The days before, the time was only shown in a tooltip when the mouse cursor was hovered over the date. From now on we always show the time.
In addition, various icons have been added, so that it can be seen at a glance whether an assessment moment is in the future, whether it can be started today or when it has already started. - When using ReadSpeaker, it is now possible to select part of a text and have it read aloud. To do this, select the text and by holding the cursor there, the option to read aloud will appear.
If the option to highlight text is also enabled in a test, an option will also appear to choose this.
2. Scheduling
- When Schoolyear is used for a test, the Schoolyear dashboard could only be opened via the Activities overview during the test. In the planning, in the Schoolyear settings of the test moment, the button to go to the dashboard has now also been added.
- When filtering by 1 day, the filter for the location not displayed disappeared in some cases. This has been resolved
3. Results and Analysis
- In the PDF of a result, the information from the Code/Reference field and the linked candidate group(s) are now also shown with the candidate information.
- In the same PDF, emoticons/emojis are now also displayed properly, for example when they have been added to question texts or candidate answers.
4. Management
- When managing candidates, a validity period for several candidates can be set at the same time via the actions. This could have caused an error message, which has now been resolved.
9/25/2022 Remindo Release 22.5
Version: 22.5.00
RemindoKeyManager
1. Keys
- An archived variant of a test matrix or test matrix can now only be removed from the archive if the source matrix is also active. If the source template is also archived, then the variant cannot be activated and the source template must first be removed from the archive. In this way it is better ensured that variants are not used unintentionally, of which it has already been indicated at the source that they should be archived.
2. Questions
- The implementation of AlgebraKiT has been updated to the latest version. Via AlgebraKiT we have been informed about the following changes:
- The Math Table question type has been extended with ratio table support;
- The Math Table question type has also been extended with truth tables;
- A new “Fill in the Blanks” question type has been added, which supports problems where the order of the answers in the input fields is flexible.
- The user interface for the Multistep question type has been completely redesigned. Multistep replaces the Algebra and Math Entry question types, allowing the author to combine the power of tasks and evaluation criteria;
- Algebrakit's support for mathematical symbols has been further improved. It is now possible to define multiple synonyms for the same symbol;
- Accuracy options have been expanded to include the notion of “significant figures” to better support scientific problems.
3. Management
- When creating/editing a question property, it is possible to choose which role may use this question property. In this list, the 'Content Manager' and the 'Content and PDF Manager' could not be selected. These have been added.
- Via 'Manage question banks' a download can be performed of all questions in the relevant question bank. In this Excel file a column has been added with the maximum score of the question.
Remindo Administration
1. Test taking
- When the calculator was used via the button next to the entry field, the value could be copied directly from the calculator to the entry field by means of a button in the calculator. This option is now also available via the calculator button at the bottom of the page. With an open question it is now also possible to use this option, with a major extension: with open questions, not only the result of the calculation, but the entire calculator calculation, including various calculation steps, is included in the answer field.
In addition, an optimization has been made with regard to the calculations within the calculator: in the calculator, when calculating a percentage, it was always divided by 100 before further calculations were made. With multiplication this is logical and it works well in all cases, but with addition and subtraction it did not go well in all cases. This could result in the calculation of “123 + 10%” resulting in 123.1. From now on, when a candidate types in “123 + 10%”, the sum will be 123 + 12.3, with a result of 135.3. - In a test with a step-by-step plan, buttons to start a step or part were experienced as too small by candidates using a tablet or mobile phone. We've made these buttons a bit bigger.
- On the candidate's dashboard, the line of a result that was still marked as provisional was shaded in red. This line is dark gray from now on.
- If a test is taken via the safe Schoolyear environment, the candidate will be automatically logged out after completing his or her test. A message will also appear to indicate that Schoolyear can also be closed.
2. Scheduling
- When a test moment was archived, information about the correction rounds was still displayed (on the 'Archived test moments' tab). The correction round(s) themselves no longer have a function at that time, so from now on we will no longer show this information. If you still need to check for that test moment, it will have to be made active again.
3. Activity overview
- In the activity log, when the STEP software was used, the browser name was always shown as 'STEP stick'. The software used does not always have to be the stick, but can also be just the software. In that case we only show the word "STEP".
- If no location has been set for a test moment, the name 'Extern' was displayed at the location in the activity overview. This has been resolved by showing again the name of the location whose IP address was captured.
4. Results and Analysis
- An icon has been added to the 'Comments' tab in the Analysis to go directly to the result page of the relevant candidate. The page you click on will therefore be immediately filtered for all questions to which a comment has been made.
- For a test matrix with feedback components, the names of these components were only displayed with the pie charts. The columns in the overview below now show the same names, instead of the generic term 'Feedback 1'.
5. Checking answers and correction rounds
- While making an answer model adjustment, a preview of the new scores/grades is shown. The explanation of the table was below the header of this table. Because this is not clear, the explanation is now placed above the table.
- When marking open questions, you can mark in the text and possibly add a comment to the mark. The option for marking can now also be temporarily disabled by means of the button at the top of the page. This also makes it possible to copy a text.
6. Management
- In Release 22.1, we added the Group Analysis to compare the results of candidate groups. This option was accessible by default for multiple roles when it was introduced. In this Release we have made access to the Group Analysis adjustable. For most roles, this analysis overview can now be disabled per role if desired.
- The role 'Administrator of paper tests' did not have the option to view and/or adjust the profile. This is now possible.
2022-07-31 Remindo Release 22.4
Version: 22.4.00
RemindoKeyManager
1. Test questions
- If many score areas are used in a worksheet question, the tabs for these score areas were no longer clearly displayed. This has been adjusted so that multiple lines will appear and the text remains legible.
- In some cases special characters, for example characters for the pronunciation of
characters in the Japanese language are not displayed correctly. When in the question text now
these specific characters are used, they will be displayed correctly.
2. Keys
- When using a composite cut score (based on points), it was possible to adjust the maximum number of points. That shouldn't be possible, so from now on this field is only editable when the normal cut-off is used.
- It is now possible to immediately implement a change in the cut-off point in the linked administration environments. The results are then immediately recalculated according to the adjusted cut-off score. This can be adjusted by the administrator role, via Test matrix -> tab Adjust settings pass and then via the tab History choose the button on the right.
This option is also adjustable for other roles.
After clicking this button, a pop-up will appear. Here the linked environments are displayed and it is possible to choose to which results the adjusted cut-off should be applied.
3. Settings
- It is now possible to set your own question template as default when adding a new test question. This can be done by the Administrator role via 'Settings' > Tab 'Question settings' > Option 'Default question type'.
Remindo Administration
1. Decrease
- As in the Remindo Manager, an extension has also been made in the Administration environment that correctly displays special characters.
2. Scheduling
- The log of a test moment now provides more detailed information about the changes to correction rounds, for example when the grading distribution has been adjusted.
- When assigning a supervisor to an assessment moment, the default location is no longer automatically linked to this supervisor.
3. Activity overview
- When a candidate is linked to a location of which the IP address has been set in multiple locations, the location set for the candidate will now always be displayed.
4. Results and Analysis
- The export of the analysis now also includes the percentage for the plagiarism agreement.
- The drawing question is now also shown in the PDF export of a result.
- In the PDF of a result, the answer options of a picklist question were not displayed correctly, this has been fixed.
- With a drag & drop question, where the images used are very large, these images were not displayed properly on the result page. Scrollbars are now placed around it, so that the images can still be shown in their entirety.
- In some cases, a supervisor, who did not have access to the (detailed) results, could still view them through the registrations on a test matrix. This has been resolved.
5. Checking answers and correction rounds
- When using the extended grading distribution, it is now possible to assign correctors in bulk. For example, several test matrix lines can be selected to add one or
connect multiple correctors. This can also be done at the demand level. In addition, for example, all parts that have not yet been assigned can be selected in one go, in order to then assign them to correctors. - In a number of cases, a correction round was reopened by a
answer model adjustment, when this was not set. This has been resolved.
6. Paper keys
- The drawing question can now also be included in paper tests. Please note, in the settings of the question it must be set that the question may be used in a paper test. A drawing question is treated as an open question after processing the scan. A correction round must therefore always be created for this test. During grading, the grader sees the crop of the page and can enter the points for the grading criteria.
7. Management
- In the default settings for test moments, it is now also possible to enable Schoolyear by default at every test moment.
- When importing users, the last step always sent the imported information to the user who did the import. This has now been adjusted, so that the user can indicate whether this information should be sent. After all, it is not always necessary or desirable to receive this information by email.
- In the settings for plagiarism checking software, the name Urkund has been replaced by Ouriginal. The settings themselves have remained the same and links that have already been set up will continue to work.
- The ability to edit terminologies is now only accessible to a Top Administrator.
- For the Auditor role it is now also possible to set that it can try out the test matrix.
- The option to edit your own profile has now also been added for the IT Support role.
2022-05-27 Remindo Release 22.3
Version: 22.3.00
General
In the Management and Purchase environment it is now possible to see which e-mails have been sent and to which e-mail addresses. It was already possible to view the undelivered emails (‘bounces’), this has now been expanded with an overview of all emails sent by Remindo.
In the Management environment this can be found under Settings > Tab 'Sent E-mail' and in the Administration environment under Management > Settings > Tab 'Sent E-mail'.Until this Release, usernames had to be unique across all Remindo environments. We want to let go of this obligation, so that a user name only needs to be unique within its own environment.
RemindoKeyManager
1. Questions
- It is now possible to pin a version of a question. This can be used, for example, when the same version of a question has to be used in a test during a school year, but there are already adjustments for the question. For example, these questions can be adjusted during the year without the changes being immediately visible in new tests.
You can pin a question via the version history of the question. You can also choose whether the preview of the question shows the latest or pinned version.
Each approved version of a question has an option to pin it, using the button with the pin icon. Clicking on the pin again unpins the question.
It is also possible to filter on pinned questions in the questionnaire. In addition, question versions can be pinned or unpinned in bulk via the shopping cart.
Later in this Release Notes, in the section on administration of the test, more information is given about the use of video files. We have added support for the open source VP9 video format. The advantage of this is the wider support of video in different browsers. When uploading a video in the management environment, the user may experience that the processing of this video takes a little longer. After all, it must be converted to the correct format. The status is shown when the cursor is hovered over the image.
Questions of the type AlgebraKiT can now include the ability to determine the user level of the question. An administrator must have made several levels available in the settings for this.
When creating a PDF in the questionnaire, where the questions contained case texts with images, these images were sometimes displayed twice. This has been resolved.
2. Processes
A few things have been improved around the Process functionality and its management:
- In some situations it could happen that a process could not be completed: this has been resolved;
- When editing a process step, the step could not be deleted in a number of cases, which is now working fine again.
Processes can be used in Remindo for some time now. This allows processes with process steps within and outside Remindo to be described and executed. For example, it is possible to capture the process of developing new questions, maintaining them or establishing a test matrix in a process description. This can be set in the management environment via Settings > Manage process descriptions.
A process description consists of (self-defined) steps that are assigned to one or more roles. When a process description has been created, after logging in to Remindo the button 'processes' will be visible and a process can be started. When starting a process, it must be linked to a specific context - for example a category in a question bank - and to specific people. In this way it is possible to let users work on a task in Remindo very specifically.
3. Settings
- For customers who use the AlgebraKiT integration for math questions, it is now possible to make multiple user levels available in the question settings (Settings -> Manage General Settings -> Question Settings tab). This allows an author to indicate per question what the level of the question should be.
Remindo Administration
1. Decrease
For users using the Safe Exam Browser for test administration, we have added support for the open source VP9 video format. With this, after the update of the Safe Exam Browser, videos can be played in the Safe Exam Browser again.
New videos that are added to Remindo are also automatically saved in the VP-9 format and will therefore work in the Safe Exam Browser, but this does not apply to older videos that are already in Remindo. If you work with the SEB and you still want to use certain current videos in a (new) test, please contact support@paragin.nl so that we can convert these videos to the new format.A new version of ReadSpeaker has been integrated. When using the ReadSpeaker integration, these new options are automatically available.
Two buttons are located at the top right of each test question: a button to listen immediately and a button to open text mode . If the 'Read aloud' button is clicked, a bar with playback options will be displayed at the top of the page. If you click on the button next to it, a pop-up opens in which the text is shown and shaded.
Any text can also be clicked with the left mouse button, so that a specific part of the text on a page can be read aloud.
During reading, there are now additional options for the candidate: For example, the player at the top of the page has been updated, where the candidate has direct control over the reading speed and can adjust various settings. In addition, there is now always a menu available at the bottom right that allows the candidate to effectively have large pieces of text read aloud without the most important buttons getting out of sight.
In addition, the DocReader component of ReadSpeaker has been integrated. When this is activated, PDF documents that have been added to the test as an attachment can now also be read aloud.Under the heading miscellaneous: when a case text contained a video, black bars were shown above and below in some cases. This has been adjusted, these black bars are no longer shown.
2. Scheduling
Filtering on extra time in the candidate list gave an error message in some cases. This has been resolved.
The application of the Cohen-Schotanus method has been optimized. As a result, it is now possible – in addition to the 95th percentile – to calculate the correction by using the average of the top 5% results. In addition, the score required to get the highest grade will no longer be corrected, so that the student still needs a 100% score to get the maximum result.
3. Activity overview
- If a user does not have rights to see the details of a result, then he or she cannot view the questions and already completed answers in the Activities overview, via the button 'Show question overview'.
4. Results / Analysis
When a candidate group is not visible to supervisors, this group will not be shown to the supervisor in the group analysis.
In the interaction analysis of a question, in some cases the names of the candidates were not shown with the given answers. This has been resolved.
5. Checking answers and correction rounds
A number of optimizations have been made to the behavior and settings of correction rounds, such as those we introduced in Release 22.2:
- When the correction round settings are opened, but the page is immediately closed again, you will not be asked whether the changes should be saved;
- The overview of the correction rounds now also shows the date on which it was created;
- In addition, it is now possible to save a correction round in draft. This makes it possible to make a plan for the distribution in advance and to complete and activate it later;
- The selection of the correctors in the extended grading distribution has been improved. This now happens in a new screen. This makes it easier to find the right correctors and the selection can be completed by a button at the bottom of the screen;
- In the Planning, when the cursor is hovered over the icon for the correction round, information about the number of active and inactive correction rounds for that test moment now appears;
- In addition, a test moment with open questions, where no correction round has yet been added, will be marked with a red icon.
In this way it can be quickly seen which test moments do not yet contain any correction round(s). The test itself can, of course, simply be administered when no correction round is yet active;
- When managing the correction rounds, it is now even more clearly shown how the grading distribution is set. If the correction work is divided per line or per question, this will be stated. The status of the correction round is also shown, namely Active, Inactive or Draft.
6. Management
- The filter for Training on the management page for supervisors now indicates when a training has been archived. In addition, this overview has been made more searchable.
2022-03-27 Remindo Release 22.2
Version: 22.2.00
Read speaker
- According to previous announcements, this Release would integrate the latest version of ReadSpeaker. Unfortunately, this was not possible in consultation with ReadSpeaker. We will include these in Remindo Release 22.3. The new version will be available on the Preview environments earlier than the next preview period.
RemindoKeyManager
1. Questions
- With this Release we are introducing a new question type, namely the drawing question!
With the drawing question, a candidate can draw the answer to the question. A background image can be added on which to draw. If this is not added, the background is white by default.
When developing a drawing question, you can already try in the example of the question how a candidate could answer the question. Below is an example of a number of options, colors, line width and various drawing tools such as shapes, lines, arrows and of course adding text areas where text can be typed on the image.
The assessment of the drawn answer of the candidate goes through preset assessment criteria, just like with an open question. In a correction round, the signed answer can then be assessed and awarded points.
If it turns out that something is not correct in the assessment criteria after a test, then, just like with other question types, the answer model can of course be changed afterwards. are being adjusted.
Two new filters have been added to the questionnaire:
- Used in test matrices
It is now possible to search all questions that are linked to a test matrix in the item bank. Please note: in the case of a test that generates random questions, the result of the filter can therefore yield many questions. - Case
With this filter all questions that are linked to a specific case can be found. This specific filter can also be applied when adding questions to a test matrix rule!
- Used in test matrices
Remindo Administration
1. Decrease
- In the chapter about the Remindo Manager we already mentioned the new question type Drawing question. This is of course also reflected in the Testing environment: during the test, the candidate can now answer the test question by drawing. The candidate can use the toolbar to perform various actions.
The pencil can be used for freehand drawing. The eraser can be used to delete drawn parts. A line can be drawn and the arrow option also allows choosing the start and end of the arrow. In addition, fixed shapes can also be chosen, namely rectangle and oval. For example, by choosing not to use a fill color, an outlined shape can be created. As a final option, text can also be placed in the drawing.
The candidate can use the zoom function while drawing to make the drawing larger or smaller.
2. Scheduling
- When editing a test moment or adding candidates to the test moment, we now show in the title of the pop-up which test moment is being edited.
- It is now also possible to open viewing moments from the planning in the activity overview, even if no candidate has started yet. This can be done by clicking on the icon in the column with number started.
3. Activity overview
- In some cases, especially when the schedule contains a lot of test moments spread over a period, the Activities overview could not display all data. We have made an adjustment to the overview for this. This means, among other things, that data is only shown for test moments, if they take place today or if there has been an activity in the last 4 hours in the specific test moment.
- The filters that can be used in the overview were always shown on the basis of 'or', so showing all active candidates and all candidates at an external location resulted in the sum of both. On request, these filters have now been adjusted and work according to 'and', so if these two options are used in the filter again, all active candidates who take the test at an external location will be displayed.
4. Results
- The result page has been made more responsive. This means that when this page is viewed from devices with a smaller resolution, the functionalities will still be visible and accessible.
- On the Analysis page of a test with feedback components, whether a pie chart is shown, when it is shown, and whether colors are displayed in the pie chart depends on the item's settings. No pie chart is displayed when scoring area names are not displayed. The pie chart only shows shades of gray when no cut-off has been chosen. When a pass mark is applied, green or red colors are displayed.
- When a user is allowed to manage paper test results and is not linked to a study programme, a message is displayed that this user cannot process the results. It was previously possible for this user to delete the scans, which is no longer possible from this Release.
5. Checking answers and correction rounds
- When checking an open question where the answer must be given in programming code, only a small number of lines were shown. With a normal open question, all lines are shown. We have now leveled this out.
- When a correction round contained a lot of results including a very large number of answered open questions, it could be that the correction round could no longer be adjusted. This has been resolved.
- The result of a test with open questions of a demo candidate did not always end up correctly in the correction round. This has been resolved.
6. Paper keys
- We have finally made possible an important and much-requested feature of paper tests: it is now possible to create a paper test when the test contains compound questions that are spread over several pages!
Think a composite question with several open questions. One interaction within the composite question must still fit on 1 page of the answer sheet. If this does not fit, a message will be displayed that the answer sheet cannot be compiled.
7. Management
- The 'General settings' tab now contains a lot of settings, which means that this page is no longer very clear. In this Release we have improved this page. At the top of the page, an overview is shown in which the settings are grouped into themes. When an option is chosen, the corresponding settings will be shown below and any adjustments can be made.
In addition, after adjusting the Settings, each item always had to be confirmed separately when saving. This is no longer necessary. - The option to test on the Schoolyear beta server has been added to the settings for Schoolyear. When it is necessary to use this option, it will be communicated to the user via Schoolyear.
- Certain standard terms of Remindo can be renamed via the Terminologies tab. In some cases, the chosen translation was not applied correctly, especially with article changes. We've fixed that.
- When adding users and then filling the password field, some browsers (with specific settings) sometimes want to fill in the password of the current user. We have made an adjustment that will make this less common.
- In the Rights and roles overview, a right was displayed that could not be set. Because this could only cause confusion, we removed it. It concerns the right 'Can view answers of result', this right is part of other already available settings.
- A new role has been added, namely the role 'IT Administrator'. In a number of cases it is necessary to give a certain user access to specific settings, but not to the complete management of the Settings. Using this role, a user can be created, who can, for example, only manage external API integrations.
- For the Test Coordinator role, it is now possible to enable this role to archive a test moment.
- For a number of roles, the right "Can manage any candidate in a review moment (no connection to candidate group required)" was added in a previous release. This option is now also available for viewing moments.
- For the Support desk role, it is now possible to set that registrations may stop, namely the right 'Can abort a test'. So in addition to canceling the test in the Activities overview, this can also be done by, for example, going to Candidates, opening the candidate, then selecting the relevant test and choosing 'Stop' in the actions.
- In the 'E-mail' tab, the check for undeliverable e-mail has been optimized. As a result, it is now easier to see which e-mail has not arrived.
2022-01-30 Remindo Release 22.1
Version: 22.1.00
RemindoKeyManager
1. Questions
When adding a feedback to a question, for example with an answer option or with the correct or (partly) incorrect answer, this text was not saved in some cases. This has been resolved.
When the score type was changed several times for a matching/matrix question in a specific order, the score could no longer be displayed correctly. This has now been resolved.
The latest integration of AlgebraKiT will be available with this Release: it has become possible, among other things, to display the author interface in Dutch.
2. Keys
- In the settings of a test matrix, under the heading 'Delivery settings', a new option has been added to the list "In the test environment it is possible to:", namely "Have the candidates compare their result with the average results". Via this option, access for candidates to the comparison in the administration environment can be switched on or off. The possibilities of the addition for group analysis are explained later in these Release Notes.
Remindo Administration
1. Decrease
The pop-up that a candidate sees when comments are allowed during a test can now be moved around on the screen. This is useful if, for example, the candidate wants to view the question while typing a comment.
If a candidate does not answer a question during an Exercise and continues to the next question, a message will now appear asking if the candidate is sure he/she wants to continue to the next question. This prevents the candidate from accidentally not answering the question and continuing (without being able to go back).
If a candidate can see the correct answers after completing the Exercise, he will now also see this while receiving the feedback, immediately after answering the question.
Candidates can now compare their achieved result with the result of the candidate group they are linked to and the average results of other candidate groups who have taken the same test! An explanation of the setting for this can be found in the next theme within these Release Notes. When it has been set in the test moment that a candidate may compare himself to others, the candidate will see a new icon on the dashboard for the relevant test.
By clicking on this, a pop-up opens where the candidate sees information about himself and his/her group compared to the other groups (chosen at the time of the test).
2. Scheduling
When planning a new test, a new option has been added to the registration settings, in the visibility for the candidate, as described above. This option is called “Let candidates compare themselves to others”.
When candidates are divided into groups, there is the possibility that the candidate can compare himself/herself against one or more groups. This can also be done across several test moments. See also the new addition for group analysis under the heading 'Results' in these Release Notes.
When the visibility settings are not allowed to be adjusted in the Testing environment, this option will become visible under the heading 'Candidate comparison '.
The candidate groups will have to be linked to categories in order to make the comparisons. Candidate groups can be managed via 'Manage > Candidates > Manage candidate groups'.Adding a correction round to a test moment is no longer done via the registration settings, but the test moment has a separate button for adding or editing the correction rounds.
To make room in the Planning for the new button for the correction rounds linked to the test moment, we have moved the button to archive a test moment. This can now be found in the pop-up when editing the test moment.
3. Results
- In the Analysis the possibility has been added to view a group analysis. A new tab has been added to the overview for this purpose.
Using the group analysis, candidates who are divided into candidate groups can be compared at group level. In this way, it is possible to analyze how the groups scored in relation to each other. A candidate can also be linked to different groups, which makes it possible to compare in different ways. Consider, for example, comparing groups on the basis of level, location or year of study.
In the group analysis, a summary of the results of the test moment is first displayed. The summary shows, among other things, the average score and the score range. If a test contains feedback components, the same information is also displayed for each feedback component.
In addition, the candidate groups can be compared with each other via the selection list at the top of the page. This is done at the category level of the candidate group. So, for example, a category 'Location' contains 3 candidate groups, namely 'Amsterdam', 'Rotterdam' and 'The Hague'. When the category 'Location' is then chosen for the comparison, the results of the 3 groups are shown side by side. Green and red icons make it clear how the value in the box relates to the rest of the values (green is a higher score, red is a lower score). - At the same time, to create space for the group analysis, the tabs per feedback item have been removed and you can filter on these feedback items on the tab 'Details of the result':
5. Checking answers and correction rounds
We were also able to apply a major innovation in the correction rounds. The settings of the correction round are still the same (anonymous grading, allowed to adjust, determine grade, etc.), but the grading distribution has been given a new format. In addition, after adjusting a correction round, it is now possible to choose how the correction work should be redistributed.
While editing a correction round that has already started, the percentage of grading work that has already been submitted will also be shown.Grading distribution
The choices that can be made for the grading distribution are explained below. Each connected corrector
Any corrector who has a connection with the candidate and is linked to this training can check the result. One corrector
Select one corrector, which must check the results in this correction round. This corrector does not have to be linked to the candidate, but to the study programme.myself
The user who is currently creating the correction round is linked to the correction work. In this case, there need not be a connection with the candidate, but with the study programme.Candidate
In the case of an exercise or practice test, it can also be set that the candidate must mark the test himself, possibly combined with one or more correction rounds. Fewer settings are available when the candidate self-checks; determine here whether previous correction rounds must be closed and whether the correction round determines the mark.Extensive grading distribution
This option offers the possibility to have the test marked by several correctors. This can be done at the level of the test, in which case the entire test is divided over several correctors. In addition, the correction round can be set per line or on an even deeper level, namely per question. It should also be indicated whether there should be a connection between the corrector and the candidate.
If the top button 'Add' (dark green bar) is used, the entire test matrix can be divided over one or more correctors. The other options to add correctors under this line will then no longer be available.
If the 2nd button 'Add' is used, the test matrix line can be assigned to one or more correctors. In this example, the question is assigned to one or more correctors via the 3rd button 'Add'.
Note that when assigning the correctors, the selection must always be completed. This button is located at the bottom right of the block of the assigned correctors.
If not all parts have been distributed yet and the correction round has already been saved, a message will appear. Here you can choose to continue, to assign the remaining correction work to yourself or to assign the items later. In the first and last case, exclamation mark icons will appear at the test matrix lines and/or questions that still need an action.
Adjust correction round
When a correction round is adjusted afterwards and a change is made to the grading distribution, a message will appear after clicking on the save button.
If you then choose not to distribute again, all the current correction work linked to the previously set correctors. The correction work that becomes available from the moment of the adjustment will be allocated according to the new distribution. In addition, it is also possible that an adjustment has only been made in the settings and not in the distribution. In that case, no redistribution needs to be done.
For the redistribution itself, there are the options to redistribute only the correction work that has not yet been assessed or only the correction work that has not yet been submitted. The correction work that has not yet been assessed has not yet received any points in the assessment criteria. The correction work that has not yet been submitted may have already received points, but has not yet been submitted and can therefore be redistributed.
Correction work that has already been submitted cannot be redistributed, as this has already been completed .
Redistributing and viewing the current distribution is of course still possible via Results > Correction rounds > View candidates and linked supervisors. There correction work can be assigned to other correctors via the actions at the bottom of the page.Correction round for specific results
It is also still possible to make a correction round for a specific result or multiple results of the same test matrix. To do this, go to Results > All results and select the desired results. Then, at the bottom of the page, choose the option 'Manage correction rounds' under the actions. The next steps are exactly the same as described above.
General
- Remindo supports the use of Safe Exam Browser (SEB) for taking tests. This software also continues to update itself so that safety is guaranteed at all times. The most recent version of the SEB is 3.3.1.
We see that most schools and exam organizations use a current SEB version from version 3, but a few organizations still use an older version. Besides the fact that this is not recommended for security reasons, from Remindo Release 22.2 the older versions (older than version 3) will be phased out for use with Remindo.
