Correction rounds settings

Article Summary

A correction round can be set up in several ways. First, the conditions under which checking is done are defined. Then you can choose how the correction work should be distributed among the correctors. It is possible to save a draft of a correction round.

Setting up a correction round

The settings in the image above are explained below. Use the 'Close settings' button to hide this menu item.

OptionExplanation
Anonymous Correction RoundSet this option to 'Yes' to make candidates anonymous when reviewing. RemindoToets will replace the candidate's name with a random number. In this case, depending on the settings in the assessment environment, the corrector may not be able to see the test result pages as long as the correction work has not been submitted or may still be edited.
Show scores and feedback from previous correction roundsIndicate here whether a score assigned in a previous round should be shown to the next corrector.
Previous correction rounds have to be closed before this one can startCheck this to make it mandatory to close a correction round. This means that a next round cannot be started by the next proofreader without a previous round being fully closed.
After the correction, the score and feedback may be adjustedWhen this option is set to 'Yes', the corrector can still adjust the scores for the answers of this test after the review has been submitted. If this option is set to 'No', the corrector can only make adjustments before the correction work has been submitted. Note: Roles that have the right to adjust corrections afterwards can always adjust corrections, even if this option is set to 'No'.
The result and grade will be determined based on this correction roundWhen set to 'Yes', this correction round determines the candidate's grade. When this is set to 'No' for all correction rounds, it can be determined afterwards which correction round determines the grade or the average of the scores of the correction rounds can be chosen. If this setting is set to 'Yes' for all correction rounds, the last correction round performed determines the grade (i.e. not necessarily the last round created or set). In all cases, when correction work is completed, the correction round that determines the grade can still be changed. See Grading based on correction round(s).
DeadlineUse the plus and minus buttons or the input field to indicate how many days a corrector has to review a submitted test. An alert will appear when the deadline has passed. There are no consequences within RemindoToets for this deadline, even after the deadline you can still check your test.

The following option is also shown if there are already existing results for the test matrix:

Add the correction round to existing resultsIndicate here whether the correction round should be applied to existing results, or whether it should only apply to results yet to be received.

Distribute correction work

The next step is to distribute the correction work. Several options are available, depending on the type of test.

Each connected corrector

Figure 3

Correctors associated with the programme at a test time can view the correction round. This option allows correctors to check submitted results, but only of candidates (possibly via candidate groups) to which they are linked.

If a corrector is linked to all candidates as well as the corresponding courses, they will be able to check the test of all candidates. In this case, several correctors will have these test results in the 'Check answers' list. If notifications are enabled, they will all receive a notification about the availability of test results to be checked.

One corrector

Figure 3

On selecting this option, additional options appear to search for a specific person. This can include filtering by roles or groups. The corrector does not have to be linked to a candidate to check results, but must be linked to the same course. A previously added corrector can be unlinked by clicking the 'Delete' button.

Me

The user currently creating the correction work is linked to the correction work. There does not need to be a link to the candidates to be able to check them, but the training must match.

Candidate

Figure 3

For exercises and practice tests, it is possible to set that the candidate can self-review. The image above shows that there are fewer settings available. This is because the options that are not relevant are disabled.

Extended distribution

Figure 3

This option allows the test to be reviewed by multiple correctors. This can be done at the level of the test, in which case the entire test is split between multiple correctors. In addition, the correction round can be set per line or even per question. It should also be specified whether there should be a connection between the corrector and the candidate. Next there is a setting to specify the distribution in percentages. This gives the option to specify your own percentages instead of letting Remindo decide the distribution percentages.

The image also shows that there are several options for adding correctors. If the top 'Add' button (in the dark green bar) is used, the entire test matrix can be divided between one or more correctors. The other options for adding correctors under this line will then no longer be available. If the second or third 'Add' button is used, new correctors will be added to Line 1 or Line 2 respectively.

After clicking 'Add', a new screen opens. There, select the desired correctors using the list and available filters. Click 'My selection' to view or delete the selected corrector.

When the option to specify percentages is selected, go to the tab 'My selection' to specify the percentages per corrector.

Add correctors in bulk

There are a number of options for assigning correctors in bulk to certain components. The image above shows these. For example, multiple test matrix lines can be selected and certain correctors can be linked directly to the selection. There is also an option to link correctors that have not yet been assigned to the current selection.

Save as draft

It is possible to save a correction round as a draft, or activate it immediately. To do so, use the one of the two buttons below.

Figure 3

If not all parts of a test are distributed among the correctors, a notification will be given when the correction round is saved in the interim. There are then three options to choose from, as shown in the image below.

Figure 3

  1. Assign: Use this option to still continue distributing items.
  2. Myself: assign all items that do not yet have a linked corrector to the user logged in with.
  3. Assign items later: exits distributing proofreading to continue it later.

Examples in the review distribution

Example 1

Correctors can check the linked candidates: In this case, select the option 'Any connected corrector' for the check distribution, ensuring that only the desired correctors are linked to this test moment. From now on, they can only check the candidates linked to them.

Example 2

Base allocation on blueprint rules: If correctors only need to check a specific line, use the 'Extended distribution' option. A corrector can be linked to each selected line separately. They will then only see the results that fall under that rule in the results overview.
